Hazard Assessment and Fall Controls
Evaluate edges, openings, roofs, ladders, scaffolds and access equipment; review elimination, guardrails, covers, nets, restraint and arrest concepts, safe practices, and PPE.
Course Code: FP8
The 8-Hour Fall Prevention course is designed to provide construction workers, supervisors, and safety professionals with in-depth training on recognizing, evaluating, and preventing fall hazards in accordance with OSHA standards and NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements. Falls remain the leading cause of fatalities in the construction industry, making this training a critical component of workplace safety.
Participants will learn best practices for fall hazard identification, fall protection systems, personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe work practices when working at heights. The course also emphasizes regulatory requirements, site-specific safety planning, and worker responsibilities for ensuring compliance with fall prevention protocols.
This course counts as 8 Hours of Prescribed credit toward your Site Safety Training (SST) card and is valid for 5 years from completion unless otherwise specified by the New York City Buildings Department.
