Course Code: MSER8
The 8-Hour Master and Special Electrician Renewal course provides licensed electricians with a comprehensive refresher on OSHA and NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements, electrical safety best practices, and recent code updates. This training helps maintain compliance, strengthens jobsite safety, and supports renewal of Master/Special Electrician credentials.
Participants review electrical hazard recognition, NFPA 70/70E concepts, lockout/tagout (LOTO), GFCI/temporary power safety, safe use of tools and test equipment, grounding and bonding, and incident response. Emphasis is placed on documentation, supervision, and site coordination to ensure safe installations and maintenance activities.
This course counts as 8 Hours of Prescribed credit toward your Site Safety Training (SST) card and is valid for 5 years from completion unless otherwise specified by the New York City Buildings Department.
