Course Code: SSIR8
The 8-Hour Supported Scaffold Installer and Remover Refresher course updates qualified workers on the safe installation, modification, and dismantling of supported scaffolds in accordance with OSHA and NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements. This refresher helps maintain compliance and reinforces critical procedures that prevent falls, collapses, and struck-by incidents.
Participants review scaffold components, foundations, ties and braces, platform construction, load capacities, fall protection, inspections, weather considerations, and emergency procedures. Emphasis is placed on pre-task planning, supervision, communication with other trades, and proper documentation to ensure safe erection and removal activities.
This course counts as 8 Hours of Prescribed credit toward your Site Safety Training (SST) card and is valid for 5 years from completion unless otherwise specified by the New York City Buildings Department.
