Course Code: SSUSR8
The 8-Hour Suspended Scaffold User Refresher course updates qualified users on the safe operation of suspended scaffolds in accordance with OSHA and NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) requirements. This refresher reinforces critical practices that prevent falls, equipment failures, and struck-by incidents during façade, window, and exterior maintenance work.
Participants review scaffold components and controls, hoist systems, rigging and counterweights, tiebacks and lifelines, daily inspections, fall protection, emergency procedures, and weather/wind limitations. Emphasis is placed on pre-task planning, communication with the rigging crew, and proper documentation to ensure safe day-to-day operations.
This course counts as 8 Hours of Prescribed credit toward your Site Safety Training (SST) card and is valid for 5 years from completion unless otherwise specified by the New York City Buildings Department.
